이 세상엔 수많은 일들이 발생합니다. 또한 수많은 정보도 생겨나고 소멸되죠. 우리 앞에는 너무나 많은 일과 정보들이 있어, 그것을 모두 수용하기가 힘듭니다. 그래도 가끔 한번 정도는 생각하고 싶은 일들, 같이 이야기 해보고 싶습니다. 아주 편하게... 이 세상읽기는 정답이 없습니다. 또한 누구의 말도 맞을 수도, 틀릴 수도 있습니다. 다만 바쁘시더라도 한번 쯤은 생각해 볼 만하다는 것. 이것으로 족합니다.

2. 미국 소매업, 새해부터 파산 시작

미국의 한 대형 로펌이 최근 거래관계를 갖고 있는 한국의 주요 로펌과 기업에게 “2009년 1월 초 미국 기업이 법원에 대거 파산신청을 할 것”이라는 내용의 서한을 보낸 것을 알려졌습니다. 특히 이 서안 안에는 ‘급박한 현실(an urgent issue)’이 될 것으로 진단하면서 미국의 유통, 소매업체와 거래관계를 맺고 있는 한국 기업도 대책을 세우는 것이 시급하다고 지적했습니다.

이 로펌은 미국 뉴욕과 영국 런던 등 세계 10여 개 도시에 지사를 둔 변호사 500명 이상의 대형 로펌으로, 한국 정부의 법률자문을 맡은 적도 있던 곳입니다.

이 로펌이 보낸 서한 내용을 살펴보면,

-미국 경제전문가들과 정부 관료들 모두 새해가 시작되자마자 미국 기업의 파산신청이 밀물처럼 쏟아질 것
-유통, 소매업 분야가 가장 먼저 파산신청을 낼 것
-여러 정보와 증거를 종합한 결과 전국 규모 또는 지역 단위의 유통, 소매업체 상당수가 파산신청을 하기 위해 연휴 동안 준비작업을 진행
-이들 업체와 거래관계인 기업의 대책 마련이 시급
-이들 기업이 법원에 파산신청을 하면 현재 공급하고 있는 물품이나 채권을 회수하는 데 채권자들의 권리가 크게 제한되므로 실제 파산신청이 이뤄지기 전에 신속하게 대책 수립
-유통, 소매 업체에 이어 건설, 주택, 자동차부품 업체도 2009년 상반기에 대가 파산 신청

이 로펌이 보낸 서한이 100% 신뢰할 수는 없다고 해도 2009년 새해부터 미국은 기업파산이 도미노처럼 일어 날 것이 뻔해 보입니다. 문제는 미국만이 아니 그 여파가 전 세계로 퍼질 것이고 특히 우리나라는 직격탄을 맞게 되는데, 대기업과 중소기업을 막론하고 2009년을 악몽으로 시작하는 신호탄이 될 것으로 보입니다.

정신 바짝 차려야 할 것입니다.



3. 노무현 전 대통령 차용증 쓴 것이 문제?

대검찰청 중앙수사부가 노무현 전 대통령이 퇴임 직후인 올해 3월 박연차 태광실업 회장에게서 15억 원을 빌렸다는 내용의 차용증을 확인했는데요, 주요 언론은 이를 대서 특필 하고 있습니다.

검찰과 국세청 조사에 따르면 이 차용증은 1년의 상환기관과 이자율이 명시돼 있는 것으로 알려졌고, 검찰은 노 전 대통령이 실제로 박회장에게서 돈을 빌렸는지 아니면 다른 명목으로 돈을 받고 차용증을 써준 것인지 확인할 방침이라고 합니다.

검찰은 박 회장의 진술을 아직 받지 못했고, 계좌추적을 통해 박 회장에게서 노 전 대통령에게 돈이 전달됐는지도 확인하지 않았다고 하는데요, 만약 노 전 대통령이 재임 중 정치 자금을 받아 박 회장에게 맡겼다가 퇴임 후 돌려받거나, 재임 기간에 박 회장의 사업 청탁을 들어준 대가로 사후에 돈을 받은 것이라면 형사처벌이 가능(주요 언론의 전형적인 수법입니다. 아직 확인되지 않은 사실을 ‘만약’이라는 문구를 사용해 지면을 읽는 독자들로 하여금 ‘15억’, ‘차용증’, ‘정치자금’, ‘구속’, ‘뇌물’ 등의 단어를 각인시키는 효과를 갖습니다)하다고 검찰은 보고 있다고 주요 언론은 밝히고 있습니다.

일단 15억 원을 빌린 것에 대해 노 전 대통령이 퇴임 이후 고향인 경남 김해시 봉하마을에서 농업환경사업을 벌이기 위해 15억 원을 빌렸다는 이야기가 있고, 한 측근은 문제가 되는 돈이 아닌 것이라고 밝혔고(문제가 되는 돈을 공식적으로 차용증을 쓸 이유가 없다), 노 전 대통령 측의 김경수 비서관은,

“검찰에서 수사와 관련한 공식 방침이 나온다면 우리도 공식적인 입장을 밝힐 것”

이라고 말했습니다.

퇴임 후 측근에게 차용증을 써 가며 돈을 빌린 것에 대해 말이 많습니다. 전 대통령으로써 이런 일반인이 하는 것을 하기에는 ‘색안경’을 쓰고 볼 가능성이 많은 것을 이해합니다. 다만 늘 하던 방법으로 ‘아니면 말고’ 식의 기사를 현 시국에 대서 특필 하는 것은 다분히 의도적 목적이 있는 것으로 밖에 안 보입니다.

검찰과 노 전 대통령 측의 한판 승부가 있었으면 하는 바람입니다.
